Established in 1998, Jill's Java House has become a favorite hangout for coffee connoisseurs, poets, writers, or anyone who enjoys a great beverage. We offer free wireless Internet, Friday night poetry slams, and Saturday night live folk and jazz. Jill's Java House is a proud recipient of numerous awards and widespread recognition, including Best Coffee in Anytown, 2002-2008 (Metro News Daily) Best of the Best in Downtown, 2007, and Anytown's Favorite Hangout (Voted on by the readers of Anytown Magazine three years running). We proudly support the Anytown's Children's Fund and are proud members of the Chamber of Commerce. And of course, we are extremely eco-friendly.

Owner and master coffee roaster Jill Simpkins opened Jill's Java House in 2000, after visiting friends in the college town of Elm Lakes, in Northern Anystate. She loved the late night coffeehouses; with their eclectic mix of people, the uplifting aroma of fresh coffee beans, and comfortable surroundings. Jill realized that Anytown lacked a real coffeehouse. So, she sold her car and took her savings, and purchased an antique coffee bean roaster. Jill soon took out a lease on a quaint corner unit in historic downtown Anytown. In fact, Jill's Java House was the beginning of the resurgence of downtown's nightlife. People now had a reason to come downtown again! Inspired by Jill's warmth and spirit, patrons became family. Patrons began donating furniture, art, and even helped build the small stage that would serve as a showcase for local talent. Considering Jill's love of jazz, and folk music, it was natural that she invited local artists to perform at the coffeehouse. Several local poets approached Jill and asked if she would host poetry readings. Her answer was an enthusiastic, "Yes" Now, Jill's is attracting a large crowd on Friday nights. Definitely one of Anytown's most unique nights.
